Turkey

As a family, we love Turkey. We first visited Belek in Turkey years ago, way before it was a popular holiday destination. At the time Amani and Sara were 3 and 4 years old, and we took my mum along. We rented a villa with a pool and it was lovely.

Since then, we’ve visited Antalya and Istanbul many times. Antalya is great if you want an all -inclusive holiday, with entertainment for the kids, with very little planning required on your part.

Personally, I LOVE Istanbul..

I love the food, especially the simple kebabs (best from the corner cafes), the friendly people, the cobbled streets, the colourful buildings and fantastic architecture, the history. I love the simits, especially the sesame ones. And don’t even get me started on the modest fashion! It’s a whole other world!

Whenever we go, we allocate some time for touring (for dad), some for shopping (Amani and me) and some for chilling by the pool (Sara, Hibah and Maariyah)

We still have so many parts of Turkey we’d love to visit! One of the things on my bucket list, is to fly in a Hot Air Balloon in Cappadocia!

Insha Allah soon, when the world opens up again. We’re always open to recommendations too….
